Information on recruitment procedures
So that you are always informed about our current vacancies, we invite you to take a regular look at our job board. Please only apply for advertised positions. We cannot consider unsolicited applications. Applications that do not relate to a current vacancy will be destroyed in accordance with data protection regulations.
We will shortlist applicants who meet the requirements profile. This applies in particular to the educational background(s), personal requirements and professional experience required in the job advertisement.
We do not keep your application documents for subsequent recruitment procedures. If you are interested in another vacancy, please apply again.
Bewerbungsinformationen
To ensure a quick, simple and efficient process, we ask you to apply preferably via our online portal of the City of Jena. If this is not possible, you can also applyby e-mail at bewerbungen@jena.de. Please note that attachments to e-mail applications can only be accepted in PDF format (max. 5 MB). Other formats will not be processed due to the potential risk of viruses.

For postal applications, please do not submit original documents and do not use folders or binders. If you enclose a sufficiently stamped DIN A4 envelope addressed to you, we will be happy to return your application documents to you. Otherwise, the documents will be destroyed in accordance with data protection regulations once the selection process has been completed. However, applications should primarily be submitted via the online portal.
Applicants with severe disabilities will be given preferential consideration if they are equally qualified.
Einzureichende Bewerbungsunterlagen
Personal and fast contact with our applicants is important to us. We therefore ask you to include an e-mail address and telephone number in your application in addition to your letter of application and CV. If you provide us with this data, we will assume that you agree to us contacting you in this way.
Please enclose with your application copies of certificates of employment or references, appraisals and, if applicable, references which should not be older than three years. If the relevant proof of suitability, aptitude and professional performance is not available, we will unfortunately not be able to consider you in the selection process.
Bezahlung und Besoldung
If a position is filled, employees are paid in accordance with the collective wage agreement for the public sector (TVöD). Civil servants are paid in accordance with the Thuringian Salaries Act (ThürBesG). The current pay and salary tables can be found on the Internet.
Hinweise zur Kostenübernahme
Please note that any application costs incurred (e.g. for participation in aptitude tests or interviews) will not be reimbursed.
Ablauf und Dauer des Bewerbungsverfahrens
- You will first receive confirmation of receipt of your application.
- After the application deadline, all applications will be reviewed and a decision will be made as to which applicants meet the requirements profile and are shortlisted.
- Applicants who are shortlisted will have the opportunity to present themselves in a personal interview.
- At the end of the process, all applicants will be informed of the decision.
The duration of the process depends on various factors, so it is unfortunately not possible to make a general statement about the time frame. Efficient procedures are also in our interest.
