Healthy working and living

04.07.2024

At Jena City Council, the focus is on the physical, mental and social health of employees.

For this reason, occupational health management has been established as a holistic system since 2014. The constant goal is to coordinate and develop operational framework conditions, structures and processes in such a way that tasks, conditions and internal work organization are designed to promote health in the long term and that employees are actively supported in their individual health.

In order not only to maintain well-being from head to toe in the long term, but also to increase awareness of this, the city administration, as a responsible employer, offers many motivating health-promoting measures in addition to company medical examinations :

  • Preventive sports courses,
  • impulse lectures and seminars,
  • health days with tests, checks and screenings,
  • vaccination and specialist days,
  • ergonomics advice,
  • targeted measures for the various professional groups as well as
  • participation in regional running events and other sporting events.

The city administration of Jena has been awarded the "Thuringian Seal for Healthy Work" in GOLD for this active health culture.
