Emergency Medical Technician (m/f/d) 2027

The City of Jena is offering two of the above-mentioned apprenticeship positions, effective September 1, 2027.

After completing your three-year training program, you’ll be responsible for providing professional assistance at the scene of an accident. You’ll need to quickly assess the situation, make decisions, and administer medical care. You’ll also become a true PS pro, as you’ll be responsible for ensuring that vehicles and equipment are ready for deployment.

Your Profile

  • You have at least a Realschule diploma or have successfully completed a vocational training program lasting at least two years following the Hauptschule diploma
  • You meet the health requirements for working in the emergency response division of the medical rescue service and the professional fire department—our company physician will verify this for you before training begins
  • A Class B driver’s license—or even a Class C license—is preferred (Note: You must obtain a Class B driver’s license no later than during the training program)
  • You have business-level proficiency in German, at least at the C1 language level
  • It is desirable that you are a member of a volunteer fire department or another emergency response organization
  • You have an interest in medical matters and are skilled with technology
  • You are characterized by a sense of responsibility, empathy, flexibility, and the ability to work well in a team
