City of Jena is one of Germany's best trainers

08.11.2018

The business magazine Capital and the HR marketing experts from Ausbildung.de and TERRITORY Embrace have selected the "Best Trainers in Germany" for the second time. With a score of 4 out of 5 possible stars, Jena City Council is one of the 500 best training companies in Germany.

Over 700 well-known companies from the private and public sectors (such as Adidas, Allianz, Bayer, Deutsche Post, Deutsche Bahn, Miele, Jenoptik) took part in the study. The evaluation was based on five criteria:

  • Supervision and integration into the company (e.g. number and support of trainers)
  • Teaching methods, performance reviews, training plans
  • Commitment of the company (e.g. further training, team events, competitions, benefits)
  • Trainees' chances of success (e.g. retention and drop-out rates, training and starting salaries)
  • Innovative teaching methods (use of digital devices, communication with trainees, teaching methods and social skills)

The city of Jena was awarded four out of five stars in the area of training, making it one of "Germany's best trainers". Lord Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche is delighted with the ranking:

'The quality of training at the city administration is at a very high level - and has even improved. We hope that this confirmation will enable us to attract even more talented young people, because we are also in fierce competition for the best specialists. Many thanks to all the trainers for their work!

The award is an important factor in the competition for young skilled workers, as it serves as a guide for school leavers and first-year students when choosing an employer. It also provides a very good basis for positive public relations work by the city of Jena (e.g. trade fairs, recruiting, employer branding). This gives the city of Jena the opportunity to present itself as an attractive employer and to set itself apart from other competitors in the labor market in a forward-looking manner.

This respectable success is mainly due to the many years of excellent work and the special commitment of our Head of Training Tina Lange (Human Resources Department), who took part in the study on her own initiative and thus made the award to the City of Jena possible in the first place.
