Dual Degree Program in Public Management (B.A.)

The three-year training program begins on October 1 of each year and takes the form of a practice-oriented degree program in cooperation with the Gera-Eisenach Cooperative State University at its Gera campus. Applications are accepted annually from September 1 through November 30 for the upcoming academic year. Academic study and practical training alternate in cycles of approximately 12 weeks.

  • You have a general university entrance qualification, a university of applied sciences entrance qualification, or a subject-specific university entrance qualification
  • You are interested in administrative, business, and macroeconomic issues

The theoretical portion of the program takes place at the Gera-Eisenach Cooperative State University in Gera. You can find more information about the structure of the program on the university’s website. In this bachelor’s program, subject areas are organized into thematically and chronologically cohesive modules. Academic performance in each module is evaluated using credits.

The program culminates in a bachelor’s thesis.

During your studies, you’ll gain experience in various areas of administration, such as Central Process and Project Management, the Finance Department, or our municipal enterprises. You’ll be trained in day-to-day tasks, optimize processes, manage the city’s digital projects—such as the “Smart Cities Pilot Project”—and support our departments in their digitalization initiatives, such as the implementation of the Online Access Act (OZG). Here, you’ll be assigned project tasks that you’ll need to complete with a high degree of independence. You’ll complete practical assignments related to these projects, which will also be graded with credit points.
